Principles

Pro Centre Finland is an independent civic organisation focused on the circumstances and rights of sex workers.

The work of the organisation is based on the following principles:

Everyone has the right to equal and dignified treatment.

 ·        Everyone should have the opportunity to receive information on their rights in language that they understand.

The rights of people living in vulnerable circumstances are to be protected.

·        Numerous groups in our society are in need of special support and protection.

·        All developments such as changes in the law or service structure should be assessed in terms of their ramifications on people in especially vulnerable circumstances.

Services offered should be appropriate to support needs.

·        There should be no pre-conditions for access to services and support.

·        The service user's autonomy should be respected and promoted.

·        Services should be easy to access.

·        Services should be useful to those using them and should strengthen their own participation in, and the realisation of, the support plan.
