Advocacy work

Pro Centre Finland assesses the fulfilment of the basic and human rights of its service users and strives to achieve equal treatment for them and to reduce their risk of alienation. Advocacy work is carried out both at the level of service provision and government structures.

Through direct contact with service users, Pro Centre monitors their circumstances, problems and legal issues.

Our advocacy work also includes stances taken on behalf of our service users on focal issues and memberships of different steering and background groups.

Services

Pro Centre's low threshold social and health services are intended for current and former workers in the sex or erotic services industry. Men, women and transgender individuals from Finland and abroad are entitled to our services.

All our services are free of charge and anonymous. Pro Centre's service provision is carried out in two locations in Helsinki and Tampere.

In addition to low threshold social and healthcare services, advice and signposting, Pro Centre also includes outreach work among its services. This enables us to make contact with individuals in difficult circumstances, who would otherwise have no access to services.

Our outreach work also includes intensified housing support in collaboration with Helsinki City Social Services. The internet and telephone services have nationwide coverage, and are included in the work of the area offices.
